The book is well written and the stories are priceless. She is very knowledgeable about the Oregon Trail trek. I hope to have her speak at one of our Master Gardener functions here in Oregon.
This book is an interesting and humorous look at early pioneer life in Oregon and the plants they brought with them for both medicinal and decorative purposes. Even if you don't intend to plant the gardens designed in the book, read it anyway for a neat slice of Oregon's history.
I've been doing a little research on the history of gardening for speaking engagements I do. This book assisted in that effort.
