This is the 1976 version & first in a Series of 7. The Author has written several other books & articles on masonry construction especially Brick & Block Construction. Richard T. Kreh, is a Retired Teacher of BRICK LAYING IN A VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. He was a frequent contributor to several B.I.A. Brick Industry Association Articles & Publications. Masonry Magazine Articles etc.. & This Book was used to teach Masonry Students Brick & Block Laying Skills. The only difference in the newer books he wrote are more up to date safety & building code information. Which can be downloaded for free from B.I.A. & O.S.H.A. Sites ! So save $160 + Dollars & purchase this book.It is considered the BIBLE OF BRICK & BLOCK LAYING.This book has tons of useful information for Brick Layers, Students of Masonry, Brick & Block Apprentices, Engineer's, Builders, Serious Home Owners who want more than a Simple How to lay brick or block book. The book doesn't contain any plans for Brick Fire Pits, Out Door Fire Places, Brick Mailboxes, Garden Sheds etc... However if you want more information on Mortar Types, How Bricks & Blocks are made, Tips on tools, brick & block work, structural tolerances... This is the Book. See my reviews for more information on other books. Shipping of Book was Fast.. 3 Days :-) My only complaint is that it came in a plain manila envelope. No cardboard over book or plastic bubble wrap or liner. Which resulted in a slight tear in book paper cover. This was due to envelope tearing during shipping. Not a big deal since the cover was over a Hardback book. However I.M.O.
