In this current, thought-provoking environmental science textbook, G. Tyler Miller and new coauthor Scott Spoolman bring the concept of sustainability to the forefront. Students are engaged and motivated with vivid case studies and hands-on quantitative exercises. As the authors showcase four scientific principles of sustainability, they immerse students in the many practical steps they, as individuals, can take toward more sustainable lifestyles. The book's new concept-centered format transforms complex environmental topics and issues into key concepts that students will understand and remember.

1. I bought the book used for college course at a great $40 price with some cosmetic wear and tear and who cares - it was not bought as an art investment, just a text book.2. Definitely a worthwhile book to read, however (and here comes the rub) authors Miller and Spoolman (I suspect Miller is the heavy weight of the two) occassionally depart from dispassionate science. They aer not impartial and have some very big axes to grind. Also, the writing style needs reflects their missionary zeal. It is not tight, concise, and antiseptic. Implicitly they are looking for converts.3. An example (the cheap shot): they are happy to apply models of species origination, growth, evolution, decline, and ultimate extinction to the animal and plant kindom as a whole, BUT, they are squeamish in applying these frameworks DISPASSIONATELY to homo sapien. Good science is dispassionate and Miller and Spoolman are anything but.

The sender sent the book 2 or 3 hours after i ordered it, which was really impressive. The book also got to my house on the first day of possible delivery time when there was a 3 week window of when it might be delivered. The book was absolutely perfect. It looked better than i imagined it would. I am so so happy and would give the seller more than 5 stars if I could

The examples provided in the book were easy to understand and applied to everyday life. It still reads like a text book but information is provided to help different types of learners, such as graphs, stories, facts, etc.

Received this book from the seller in the same condition the seller explained. This book is a great tool if you would like to get to know more about environmental science. The format is excellent and the lay out allows you to learn effectively.

I use this for my AP class in high school. It's very helpful, as we do all of the learning through chapter outlines of this book. It was in spectacular condition when it arrived, even though it was used. It does have some giant stickers on it though, saying that its used. (The entire back cover was covered with a sticker, and the back actually does have helpful stuff on it. Oh well.) But the inside was in pristine, almost new condition.

Text book information. Nothing new. Only purchase if needed for a class. You can get better information on the internet.

Excellent
