I really enjoyed this book. I read it while staying in a cabin on the edge of the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness in northeast Minnesota. The book includes some of Olson's earliest magazine articles from Sports Afield and other periodicals. Articles like "The Poison Trail" and "Papette" revealed an early antagonism towards wolves that was a little surprising to me. Papette was an especially excellent article that portrayed life in a wolf pack from the viewpoint of a strayed dog. Some of the other articles like "Confessions of a Duck Hunter" and "Spring Fever" exemplify Olson's excitement about the outdoors - and it's contagious. There's also a good introduction by Sig's son, Robert Olson, with a short biography on Sigurd Olson. This is a must read for Sigurd Olson fans.
