This Dutch oven recipe book is filled with a ton of delicious recipes and personal stories by the author. You can tell that the author is very knowledgeable and passionate about this cooking style! Very well written and it has recipes in it for all different kinds of foods. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that I personally find it difficult to actually cook this way despite the given instructions. I've tried 3 times and all 3 times, the food did not turn out as expected. You need a bunch of supplies to start cooking this way using charcoal, the Dutch oven pans, foil... Just not for me, I guess.I received this Dutch Oven cooking book at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
I absolutely love the personal touch and humor throughout! I love dutch oven cooking but have always eaten someone else's. With all these amazing recipes, and thorough instructions I am going to get my cook on! We camp at least twice a month so this book was a must buy!I share similar feelings with the author about "homemade" recipes that include packages of this or boxes of that. So I really appreciate all the ingredients listed out. I hate to say it, but it does absolutely taste much better from "scratch"!I really enjoyed all the "Did you know" sections throughout the book! Great job! Love it!
I've used the roast recipe numerous times and it turns out great. I'm not going to be using my dutch oven while camping, only in the oven, and the directions are wonderful at converting number of charcoal bricks to temperature.
If you are intimidated by dutch oven cooking..... you don't need to be anymore. This step-by-step guide to dutch oven cooking is perfect. Every recipe that we've tried has been delicious. I love knowing that the recipes also convert to regular oven baking with no need for adjustments. The only dutch oven cookbook you will ever need.

When I buy a cookbook, I feel it is a worthwhile investment if I only get one recipe that I like. Well, this book didn't do anything for me. I'm a Spud man from Idaho and his French fry and hashbrown recipes weren't up to par, and made me wonder about his other recipes. When he bragged of making everything from scratch, I had high hopes.
Great book! There are so many delicious recipies and the book is well written and entertaining! If you want to learn how to be a better dutch oven cook buy this book!
The beef stew was to die for. I can hardly wait to try something else. I am going to start living in a tent just so i can cook this way all the time.
