I am an amateur wood worker and some of these plans are beyond my current ability. I do appreciate the pictures of finished projects, but some of the pictures don't match the plans. The plans are simple but lack detail. Example, for the coffee table it says a board 3 feet by 2 feet. Is that 3 feet thick, haha. I know what it means but not a beginner. And I don't think you will go to the lumber yard and get a 3 x 2. Sorry! I do know some big home stores sell pre made table tops that wide but not stock lumber unless it is plywood. And the door plans. I WISH doors were that simple. Enough said. It is a good book but would NOT say "easy" or "beginners".
I am not an expert in woodworking and in fact this is my first ti,e to try woodworking and see if I can do it by myself. I bought this book to help me create some stuffs that I can use at home without having to buy or pay someone to do it. I find this easy to read and understand and the pictures included that shows you the finish products keep me motivated to get started.
Did not like this book. Poor quality. Poor directions. Mysterious wood supplies lists that don't seem to match the project. Only a couple pictures appeared to even be the project described. The two pictures on the cover are not even in the book. Cover says 25 projects. Page in book says 20. The first project, a toy box, needs 16 4x4 boards and 5 pieces of plywood 4 ft. by 4 ft. No picture. These directions make a shipping crate, not a toy box for a child. Try using 2 x 2's and 1/4" plywood cut to a shorter height so a kid can reach into it and no lid unless you use a safety soft closing bracket. Other projects are confusing and not well thought out. I am deleting this book from my Kindle and online content.
The plans are not very detailed at all, if you are new to woodworking or have little experience this isn’t the book for you. There are pictures, but not very helpful at all. I would have liked to see step-by-step instructions with pictures. It is more of a list of supplies and a brief description of how to put it together.
