It's alright, but I was hoping for more. I didn't fall in love with this book and after looking through it once, its been sitting on my bookshelf with no intentions of being opened again soon. I wanted a go-to book that was specific for Wisconsin and give me good reminders of what to do for my garden. While the information is all fine, it's not laid out in a way that's great for me. I would prefer specific information like average temperatures and rainfall in the month and based on that, recommendations of what to plant. It lists everything in paragraphs so its not quick to find information -- especially specific information. It feels all too general to me.
This is THE definitive guide for northern gardeners.The book is divided into sections of interest on amonthly basis. If you want to know about your perennialsin July, just turn to the month page in that section.The author is a Wisconsin Master Gardener who has beenthere and done that, and happily shares her experiences in avery easy to read and follow manner.This book should be in the library of every Mid-westgardener!
This book is great. It has all the geographical frost, and precip data I was looking for. Very good book for someone just getting started and not sure about what to grow in their area.
