I am an environmental science teacher who chooses to use this book. I agree with the long winded reviewer that this book is gentle on the issues, but believe this approach to be important in an introductory course. As the teacher, I make it my job to color the issues I find important. The 8th edition is out, so this version will become less popular.
This is was a great textbook for Environmental Science. Its easy to read with pictures of concepts and such. Each chapter begins with an article or piece of writing that has to do with the environment. The book is very relevant which is a great way to understand Environmental concepts. It's written in universal language that we can all understand. It was a great book for my Environmental Science course.
Horrible condition. The first 100 pages of the book were stuck together and if I tried to separate them, they would fall out. The only benefit was that it was very easy to return and I was credited back the full amount.
really great textbook! very easy to read. not a boring read, it keeps your attention because it's well written. very informative photos and insightful written vignettes. i learned a lot from this textbook.
I originally didn't intend to purchase this version of this textbook for my Envrionmental Studies class. It came in brand new condition which was great, however I was able to return it. It came just as described and I was able to exchange it for the correct version. This was my first time ordering books from , and since than I have been ordering books from here for three years and it has been less than what I would find at my college bookstore for the same textbooks.
Required textbook for a college Environmental Science class. Since I live near the Hudson River, it is quite informative.Easy to read and to understand.
I ordered this book online as I order most of my school books and have now been waiting a month to see any signs of it with no tracking info provided and no idea if this item will ever show up. I had to order another book and am now out about $250 and two weeks behind in my class because of the lack of proper or prompt service. I now have to wait and see if the book ever arrives and then go through the hassle of returning it and hoping to get any kind of refund. This has been the worse service I have ever experienced ordering from
I bought this because the price was right and it is in almost perfect condition. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an environmental science text book.
