This is a basic how-to which would be good for a first-time cat owner or child. It's not meant to be an encyclopedia of cat behavior. The illustrator is a friend of mine, so completing my Kipling West art collection was the main reason for purchasing this kit. The toy is a fluffy white furry ball on a wire which can be attached to a door with the turquoise plastic mounting bracket. I suspect that this kit was envisioned to be an easy gift for the new cat owner -- an easy and sweet way to say, "Welcome!"
The content of the book is not as informative as the title sounds. Also, the toy coming with the book is nothing special - my cat has already had it!
It's a cute book with fun things to do for your cat. My 8 year old likes it so it's more informative for kids.
