The book was in excellent condition when it arrived.The recipes are drool-worthy. The book was smaller than I expected, but still very full of recipes to try out. Several great seafood options, and very clear cooking instructions.
I am disappointed with this book. None of the traditional recipes are in here. Yes I am from the Azores but the author of this book is cooking with spices that I didn't even know Portuguese people in Portugal cooks with and none of these recipes with the exception of the cod with chickpeas recipe and the dreams dessert recipe seem to be even familiar.
A great reference and example of Portuguese Cuisine (or close to it!) you know your taste buds will fool you while reading the recipes! Delightful and sure easy to follow! Most enjoyable!
DH is 100% Portuguese and his parents came to the USA in their 20's, so his mother cooked as though she was in the old country. Recipes are reminiscent of his youth so this cookbook will be a blessing to me in the kitchen.Shipping and customer service are always an A1 experience.Thank you again!
The recipes are good and rustic, but please note this is a very small book in size.
Being of 100% Portuguese heritage of course I'm going to give this 5 stars. Great recipes, beautifully written and illustrated.
