About 5 years ago I had the opportunity to attend a modest seminar conducted by Beverly Turner at her nursery in Orange County, California. I knew then that this woman should write a book, and I'm so thrilled she finally did. A true pioneer of fairy gardens, Beverly is more than just a gardening expert. She is an accomplished actress, director and set designer as well, and she brings that sense of theater to each tiny garden. So much more than a collection of plants and props, each of her creations tells a story and draws people in. I saw many of her fairy gardens during my visit to her nursery, and each one is a wonder. A few tiny bunnies and an overturned teacup transform what could have been a static tea party set into a "naughty bunny tea party". An empty bench and a figure staring off in the distance speaks of a missing loved one. This beautifully illustrated book gives the reader all the tools necessary to tackle fairy gardening with confidence. In addition to sharing her artistry, Beverly provides clear instructions for creating your own miniature masterpiece. There are instructions about plant selection and construction techniques, but more than that, she teaches you how to create drama on a miniature scale. I heartily recommend this book to both novices and seasoned gardeners interested in exploring this magical, living art form.
I received this book as a birthdy gift and I was so excited when I got it. I was up late reading it that night and online and out in the stores purchasing items for my fairy gardens the next day. My kids love helping me assemble my miniature gardens and we have several so far. This book gave me so many ideas of fairy gardens that I want to create. Thank you for having such a clever book!
What a delight to read this beautiful book about the enchanting world of fairy gardening. The authors are definitely well versed in the art of creating magical, miniature landscapes. This book is a complete reference for the novice and pro alike. From developing your theme, to choosing your plants, containers, and accessories, all is encompassed here. I love the "mini-tips" interspersed throughout the chapters. The exquisite photos are truly inspirational. This is a must have book for every gardeners library.
I am trying to get started in Fairy Gardening and don't know much about the plants... I know what I like when I see it! This book has tons of pages of plants to use in mini-gardening, however, there is no picture to go with the definition! Now, I have to go through ad google hundreds of plants until I find what I want....Very disappointing!
This book is full of wonderful ideas. It's not the book for you if you are looking for instructions for planting the garden, but it's loaded with ideas for decorating the garden once it's constructed. I wish it had some ideas for constructing twig furniture.

This is a beautiful little book. It is a Christmas present for my great niece and I know she will love it. The pictures are very good and the book is well written. I can't imagine there are people in the world that don't believe in fairies.
I love fairy gardens, but am hesitant to plant one because I am not sure I will be able to keep theplants small and in scale to the other items in the garden. This book has lots of ideas and samples.
