It's a stunning book! I recently had the chance to peruse an advanced copy, and I loved it! I am an architecture and interior buff, though the thought of cabin living had never ranked high on my radar. But after seeing this, I'm rethinking my beach and big city escapes, and wondering if I need instead to head for the hills, the trees, and the sticks, as there some gorgeous places to be had there.Photography is top notch! Will be a lovely addition to my library! Recommended.
This is a gorgeous photographic work showcasing the rustic cabins of the south. Anyone with any interest in building a cabin of their own that has ambitions to build a structure with character and patina rather than a bland McMansion will really benefit from this book. The book is executed very tastefully and would serve as a great coffee table book for any lover of architecture or design, or as a source of inspiration and details for any aspiring cabin owner. If you love Garden and Gun magazine, this book is a must!
I love the quality of the pictures and particularly the stories presented with each profiled property that bring them to life. This book invoked many fond childhood memories of time at my grandparents' log cabin on a lake, built in the early 1930's. The book itself is beautiful and has a prominent place on my coffee table where I look forward to enjoying it's pages over and over.
Absolutely loved this book! Fantastic photos and interesting descriptions and stories about each cabin. Flipping through this book is the next best thing to spending a relaxing weekend in the mountains.
This book is absolutely beautiful! Not only are the photographs amazing, but the writing is lovely. The author has an amazing eye for her subject- the light, the angles, but more, the author's love of her subject can be seen in her pictures. After reading about the cabins in this book, I am ready to move to a more rustic lifestyle- yep, I am sold. Beautifully put together. I enjoy having Southern Rustic Cabin sitting out for company to enjoy, as well.
This is a wonderful book, combining beautiful photographs with engaging and interesting stories. I loved reading about the stories and history behind each cabin.. This book is a must for anyone interested in interior design, historic cabins, beautiful photography or all of the above.
