"The Medal in America: Volume 2", as edited by Alan Stahl, is an important work in capturing the art and the history of medallic sculpture in the United States. Although not a complete history, it is a very nicely done compilation of articles by some of the foremost writers, researchers, and even a minter or two, who have had a lasting impact on medallic art in the US. The articles are accompanied by a satisfactory number of photographs and illustrations. This is a nice addition to the numismatic library of anyone interested in medallic sculpture.
