With its many illustrations, it is easier to understand the dishes, as well as to appreciate Scotland's landscapes, brilliantly made.

This is a wonderful cookbook! I am very impressed with the distinct and obvious overlap of the various European cuisines and cultures, which this book makes stunningly clear. Anyone with Celtic and / or Scandinavian ancestry should treat themselves to this tasty compilation post haste!

Love this book! The recipes I have tried are delicious! Really pleased with my purchase

I almost gave it five stars, but there were some recipes missing....it discussed haggis, showed photos of haggis, but had no recipe for haggis. There was another recipe for Lorne Sausage with Red Onion Relish, but didn't give a recipe for the relish. Other than that, I needed it to prepare a meal at our church to honor a Pastor of Scottish heritage and all of the recipes we used were very good and we received many great comments about the food.

This is interesting and enjoyable to read, rather than to use. There is a good introductory section. The recipes sound delicious, but many of them are based on ingredients that are hard to find where I live , for example, game. It is lavishly illustrated.

I thought where would be more but it is a basic menu of Scottish dishes. For an average American getting this book, it should have translated what Haggis is....liver and Scrapple....rabbit. However, it is very detailed with step by step instruction with measurement translation (ml/cup/tsp/etc). Otherwise, going to try some of these.

Bought several Scottish cookbooks for a highlander friend. She loved the recipes in this book.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my brother (we are of Scottish descent). Lovely photos, recipes that would appeal to an American family, and ingredients that can be found in the U.S.
