Very good reference book, especially for herbicide chemistry, nomenclature, history, application, and environmental fate. Thorough and up to date on commercially available herbicides (as of 2014). I taught introductory weed science at a jr. college this fall and used this book to supplement the course materials, based on recommendations of a couple of weed scientists at UC Davis. The book in and of itself would not have been appropriate as a text book for my class because it is too technical for freshmen in my opinion, but would be excellent for upperclassmen and graduate students. Provides some weed management information for specific crops (turfgrass, aquatic, orchards, corn, etc), but it is very general, as would be expected, and better crop specific information can be found on-line thru various university extension publications.
It is a great book, with tremendous information. It was required for my class, but I am very pleased with it even though it was used. The price is great and the quality was very impressive. I will buy more used books from in the future.
The price was a lot cheaper than I could get at the college bookstore, but it took a lot longer than I expected to arrive.
