I bought the book for my husband since he tends to use pesticides frequently. I am convinced of the benefits from natural ways to prevent pests in the garden although he does not seem too keen to try the suggestions. The advice in the book does not always apply to us in Southeast Queensland in Australia but I am sure that my man will get a few good ideas! Well illustrated. A fun read! Thank you.
Jerry Baker, the master gardener. Back in the day he was the K-Mart voice. I love him, quick wit, shows in his writings. Definitely not a boring book. Fun read, lots of information so much you must mark the pages! A book that could spark a conversation, lovely read. Pick it up anytime, and flip through, no need to start front to back here. Great reference, as is all of his books.
This book has great suggestions for ways to get rid of pesky bugs in an environmentally friendly way. Jerry writes in a funny manner. I took this book to the doctor's office with me and the receptionist liked it so much she also ordered one from .I don't think all methods will work for all people or areas of the country, but they are sure worth trying. I would say that these remedies are going to be cheaper than bug spray at garden centers. If the first remedy doesn't work, Jerry normally provides more than one.
I love this book...It is really informative...It's better to make your own home remedies and not spend thousands of dollars for an exterminator...This author knows a lot about how to get rid of Bugs...
This the cook book of gardeners...All his recipes for dealing with garden pests....Most of the ingredients can be found around the house...not a bad way to go if you are leery of strong chemicals in the garden...we have animals so this was a happy medium for us. I keep it as a reference book..
We had a number of bugs and critters to deal with and this book gives some very useful ways to deal with the pests. Already applied some of the ideas and they are working well.
My dad raises orchids and had heard about this book- I ordered it and he loved it! Tells you all kinds of facts about all kinds of plants and bugs. It works on most household plants too.
We have tried some of the suggestions in this book. It has knocked the spider mites and aphids on our plants back, but hasn't gotten rid of them.
