Invasive Weeds Of North America: A Folding Pocket Guide To Invasive & Noxious Species (Pocket Naturalist Guide Series)

This guide highlights widespread plants that can cause economic and ecological damage to crops, ranges, forests, and wild lands. Many of these problematic plants are non-natives that now grow in locations beyond their known historic range and are obliterating native species. Invasive Weeds of North America is a pocket-sized reference guide to identifying invasive and noxious flowers, shrubs vines and trees and lets you know what you can do to help prevent them spreading. Laminated for durability, this lightweight, pocket-sized folding guide is an excellent source of portable information and ideal for field use by novices and experts alike. Made in the USA.

As you go from region to region across the US, you may find that some of the listed plants are actually native in some areas and invasive on others. In San Diego there are 6 listed species that are not invasive but are native. (There are also about 11 related species to those on the list that are native). If you plan to use this guide to start ripping out invasive plants, please check with other sources and experts to make sure you are not targeting a native, possibly even endangered species. This is a good guide for beginners and novices to help them become familiar with some of these plants. I will be using it in the field. Just remember to double check what you find before ripping it out.

This was a waste of $6. That's the only reason I don't return it. There are many many many more weeds than what are listed in this pamphlet. And the authors left out at least two of the most productive and invasive weeds here in America.

It is easy to carry along on jobs. Ilike the plastic coating. Has been helpful with identifying certain weeds. For the price it is good.

What more can I say about something so poorly done as this what a total waste of my hard earned money

Pretty flowers, pretty bad behavior. Get to know plants that are not doing us any good at all. Handy.
