I'm trying to teach a class with this textbook and the errors are more than a minor distraction. Figures with the state of certainrelays and switches are labeled incorrectly. I cringe at how students will cope - although we are just starting the semester. And I agreewith other reviewers that there is too much material that is not essential to the topic - "fluff". It is a struggle using this text andI can't recommend it for anyone.
Trying to read this book cover to cover so I don't miss anything for my class, I have found several big errors in the text. And I brought the errors up to my professor and he agreed and apologized for the errors and told us to not pay attention to the errors. He is writing his own textbook which will hopefully hit the market soon. And speaking with other professionals in the PLC community, they all agreed that the book teaching us fractional binary is a complete waste of time because it's difficult and rarely, if ever, used in the real world.This book needs another edition.
this has it all and has been a great tool to use. certainly new information comes out but we use this in our industrial maintenance classes to teach how to use programmable logic controllers
