Bought every one of these little books that were available. They are small, about 1/4 the size of a standard sheet of paper. The inside is medium weight card stock and each page has one stencil. There are maybe 8 to 10 pages of stencils based on the book's theme in each book. Wouldn't use for a painting project, but I'm planning to turn them into fabric applique designs, and they will be perfect for that use.

Yes, these stencils are cute, and I'm glad the reviews gave more information than what was listed with the item. But I bought this specifically because I needed a sea turtle stencil. This has a turtle, but it's a land turtle, not a sea turtle. I can't use a turtle with claws, and why would that be included in a book of "Sea Life" stencils, anyway? Here's a clue, Dover Stencils: sea turtles have flippers, not claws. Something about the swimming, maybe?

I bought this booklet two and a half years ago, solely to use the seahorse stencil for painting my bathroom wall. At first I thought I might have to trace the seahorse shape onto plastic, because I wanted to "stamp" my walls with it and needed to use it many times. But the booklet paper was pretty sturdy, like shiny cardstock, so I decided to try it as-is. The seahorse design was perforated and very easy to punch out of the page without frayed edges or tears. I held the page to the wall and sponged over it with regular semi-gloss latex wall paint. It worked great--no bleeding or leaking. I used this same stencil to sponge approximately 70 little seahorses on the wall, and it held up great. I let the latex paint dry on the stencil paper, which made it stiffer, and since that day, I've re-used it several times with acrylic paint to add seahorses to various items. Before I bought this booklet, I searched online for seahorse stencils for a long time. None of them were as cute as the one in this book, and none of them were this cheap! This is seriously one of the best "painting supply" deals I've ever scored.

These stencil books are probably hands down THE best bargain on . I bought 9 of them for painting onesies at a baby shower. So much more cost effective than other stencils I considered. Stencils are done on thick stock paper and there wasn't one design that was at all disappointing. Would buy time and time again.

This book is about the size of a quarter sheet of notebook paper. The sea creatures are perfect for my purpose of stencil painting onto kids furniture. Great price!

These stencils vary a little in size due to different shapes but they are about 3" by 4". The set includes a turtle, sea horse, starfish, lobster, crab, and conch shell. The designs are simple and easy to trace. The design is cut into card stock that is high gloss on both sides so if you plan on using paint, you can reverse the stencil to have the design facing in opposite directions. These may not be as durable as plastic, but they are economical and good quality, they will hold up well for many uses. i would recommend or buy Dover Stencils again.

This little book of stencils is great for creating vinyl maskings for sandblasting on glass. Simple and easy designs make cutting the patterns fast. Also they are great for cutting copper foil for to overlay glass. Wish there were more books.
