This is a good classic craft book. Although most of the materials are outdated now, I still peruse for ideas.
****This is a short (35 pages), full color older book about Melt Art or UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) written back in 2001 before the Melting Pot was available. Although it is a bit dated, the ideas still are wonderful and inspirational.In most of the projects, the UTEE is heated simply with a heat gun. Although I have and use a Melting Pot, I enjoyed reading about the variety of techniques that can be done with just the UTEE alone---texture, using rubber shelf liners, foils, embellishing, and more. Many of these creative ideas can be done even easier with the Melting Pot.I would definitely recommend this idea book, and have given it 4 stars instead of 5 just because it is a bit dated and was written pre-Melting pot. If you are into UTEE, as I am, you will enjoy learning everything you can about it, and sources to do so are few and far between.****
This book was written before the Ranger Melting Pot came on the market, so the directions call for a heat gun (work in a shoe box to keep powder from blowing around) or toaster oven (designated for crafts, of course). There are 15 UTEE techniques and as Suze says, "jump right in and have fun!!" Make frames, boxes, jewelry,cards. etc.
