OK I confess, I'm a little old cat lady too, and obviously, to all of us feline-frenzied cat lovers will be able to tell that this author indeed understands cats.I enjoyed this read, it was funny and clever and well written. It is not the great "American Novel" but golly it was cute and fun and easy to read. Yes, Russian literature, or the classics from Greece are all very well and good, but they can take a lot out of you! Sometimes a delightfully charming mystery or romance can relax, and allow your poor tired old brain rejuvenate for the next heavy duty reading project. this book might take you a day, but I thought it well worth it. I will be purchasing the rest of her books for just this reason.Now anyone who has read my reviews knows I complain about poor writing, syntax errors, spelling errors and poor grammar. I usually dont finish the egregiously error riddled book. This Author, oh yes, she certainly is an author, I couldn't write like she does, was perfectly delightful to read because there were no egregious errors, good editing, good writing and a cute story. I look forward to the next book!
Although I love cats and cozy mysteries, I couldn't get past this book's glaring grammatical errors. ("Are" vs. "Our", etc. I am not talking college-level, folks.) After the first chapter, I moved on to an author with a better command of the English language. Not worth my time or money.
Great little mystery. It was a quick read (almost too quick) and held my interest. Good editing and grammar, spelling, etcetera. I would have liked more involvement of the cats, to get to know them better. I intend to try some additional stories by this author.
A light fast quick read. Millie a single woman, a writer who has computer skills. She lives in apartment with 5 cats. She is friends with homicide detective who values her help. He keeps her to stay out of it but Millie does what she wants. She looking into the deaths that occurred in a robbery of a jewelry store. The are her babies or children and play no part in the tale.I was disappointed as I was expecting a cat story
It does have a very interesting approach. Several times in the story I felt like I was watching Law and Order or CSI TV series. High quality story that keep you reading wondering more of the thrill behind the story. I you enjoy those types of shows you will definitely will love this book. What makes it more interesting is the interaction of the cats with case. The mystery is ongoing. The author did a great job. I like the book...a must buy!Dennis Ruiz
MILLIE THE ADVISE COLUMNIST & HER 5 FELINE FRIENDS ARE BACK IN THE MIX. DETECTIVE JON MARX STILL DOESN'T WANT HER HELP, BUT SHE GIVES HIM SUCH EXCELLENT IDEAS. WHO'D THINK TV CRIME SHOWS & CRIME NOVELS WOULD HELP SO MUCH.
Millie is a charming elderly, almost cat lady with only 5 cats, and a mystery lover. She is great at solving them too.Bought the 3 books in the series already, and can't wait to read more of Millie's exploits.
Excellent short read. Millie reminds me of the older ladies on the street who know everyone's business. They sit in the window all day and watch everyone on the street. Only difference is she uses a computer. I had a laugh at her because of this. I really enjoyed the story and will look in to more of her adventures.
