For the "young" or inexperienced staff member thus would be a great primer. As an experienced surveyor, I was even able to find some nuggets of wisdom. Good book.

I found this book to be informative and useful. Easy to find info I needed with a helpful index and informative graphics.

This is my favorite of the Jim's series.
