If you are a small business just starting using QuickBooks or already using QuickBooks, I highly recommend this book. Although I have some back ground knowledge in accounting, I found this book to be user friendly, easy to understand and a valuable tool. I had taken a 2 day QuickBooks seminar and what knowledge I received from that expensive training was all covered in this book, which goes into depth on the technical features offered in QuickBooks. I continually refer to this book as I expand my knowledge on how QuickBooks can help me do my job in an efficient, time managed manner. QuickBooks offers so much to a small business. However, a person needs to be able to access this knowledge and this book allows anyone to learn the ins and outs of QuickBooks 2014.
Leslie Capachiett's "QuickBooks 2014 The Guide" is a valuable and easy to understand tool for using the extensive functionality of QuickBooks software. By using this technical guide I have increased my depth of knowledge for this software and added much needed efficiency to my daily accounting tasks. I highly recommend this book as it sets a high standard for being "user friendly", as compared to the other products and resources that are available to support me in my job.
I have installed my new QB 2014 Pro software, and in glancing over this book, it appears that I definitely selected the perfect guide for me. The layout and detail is perfect, and since I know nothing about QB I believe I will be able to learn the steps in short order. There were many books to pick from, but a friend of mine who is a computer wizard, says this book is going to be excellent for me to learn from, as well.
I did not find this book to be very helpful. The manual that came with my QuickBooks Version 5, was a much better guide, with step-by-step instructions on how to do things. This book did not probivide thoses details.
I bought it to use as a reference for future use. I have used it once and it helped me with what I needed.I'm very glad I purchased it. The guide is very easy to use and follow. I would highly recommend it to others.
I got this book because I have many years of experience in accounting but no experience with QuickBooks. I was hoping to find a reference guide for accounting professionals, but this was not it. This book is written more for the user who has little or no accounting background, and just needs to set books for their business. For that purpose it is good.
I was hoping for better but it probably not as good as google to find your answers. IF you are brand new QuickBooks user you really should read one of these books end to end just to get your head wrapped around the software.
Answers a lot of questions that is hard to find elsewhere. Even our accountant didn't know the answer to some of the questions that were answered in this book.
