There are some beautiful ideas in this book, but most of them are not so good for the Dallas, TX area, as we are currently in a drought and not able to water much. It is forecasted to get worse through the summer, so most of these beautiful ideas entail a lot of beautiful foliage and plantings, which will not be good. The other thing is that the area I needed ideas for, is a small oddly shaped area and none of these really worked for my intended area. I did get some good ideas for flagstone walks.
This book has a lot of great ideas from which to springboard your own ideas, if you're that type of person. Most of these are large scale ideas. I was hoping for some smaller projects to create areas of interest. There is not a lot of instruction in this book.
Nicely presented book with many clearly photographed patios, walkways and paths. All are very attractive and beautifully put together. All appear to be expensive and obviously created with the help of landscape designers and a lot of manpower. They are also created in areas with a climate allowing many varied plant types and sufficient water to create lush landscapes. I would have like to seen some more addressing of issues like problem areas and how they were solved. There is a preponderance of brick, concrete and flagstone paving. It would have been very nice to see more use of recycled or found items re-purposed as paving or steps.
I found this book to be very reasonably priced and loaded with helpful information, ideas, and project designs. Will recommend this book to others and seller.
If you are wanting to do walkways this is great. It shows many different styles and how to put them down.
Just what I was looking for. Ideas for plantings in a large boring yard. Beautiful pictures and helpful planting suggestions. Very happy with purchase.
We enjoyed the photographs in this bookand used it for landscaping ideas. Great variety in design and foliage. Would recommend.
