Jack Kramer, an accomplished botanist, has an admirable depth of knowledge about bromeliads and their cultivation. This book is especially helpful for those new to bromeliads who want to start their own bromeliad garden--all the basics are here, and the plant profiles help the gardener choose bromeliads for a variety of locations. Those who already grow bromeliads will likely appreciate the depth of information in the bromeliad descriptions. Although complete for its purpose, this book is not a dry listing of botanical facts, but is interspersed with history and personal experience. Very enjoyable to read and look through.

This book is second choice of the 3 newest books I just bought covering the areas of care and diseases of bromeliads. It has photos but not as many and less familiar bromeliads than those I have found at the Landscape shows on display. The most breathtaking of all I have is an achmea called "Blue Tango". Perhaps more exotic in bloom, however it takes 3 years for the pups to reach maturity. Most of the current colorful bromeliads bloom anually giving pups that will bloom the following year, a need to know for the new collector! All of his information is excellant and this book will become one of my library used for making public presentations to help educate the public on the ease of care of bromeliads. My yard has no grass, only plants and mostly bromeliads of all kinds blooming year round making a demo for these classes fun to share. Having a small yard, most of those in his book that I remember seeing have been at Bok gardens where space is not an issue to share beauty with these plants. I will also use it in my bromeliad class I have been sharing with new incoming mastergardeners of Polk Co.. I have felt very honored to be able to share my love for these plants with new classes who will help educate others as well. Jan L.

I was happily surprised on all the information, discription and color photos this little book offered. A first for anyone wanting to learn more about bromeliads as well as for the beginner. Also a very good price.

Excellent. Full of information. Would highly recommend for beginners & experienced gardeners. Shows many varieties of Bromiliads. Very indepth. Very glad I purchased this book.

This is a great reference book for those interested in getting started in growing these interesting plants or in putting together a trove of information on them.

Interesting didn't see mine but knowing there are many thousands of hybrids I am not surprised. Would recommend to anyone growing them
