The book does give a lot of General Information, but, I haven't planned a wedding since my own in 1985, so having general information that is vital to know when planning a wedding was great for me! I didn't have to search all over the web and assemble the information, it was all right here for me.I purchased this book because my daughter will be getting married in the coming year, and I am all for saving money any way I possibly can. This book is actually a refreshing approach. The author tells us how to approach vendors for a discount, and covers just about every possible aspect about planning a wedding.As another reviewer said, she brings up things that I never in a million years would have thought of.If only one of her strategies causes you to save money on the wedding, then the book has more than paid for itself!I highly recommend!
This book gives practical information. But I find these somewhat general and obvious. And the author needs a lot words to explain. For me the book was not of much help.
First they should tell you that the author is in the UK and that everything is in pounds. It also makes the wording and the whole perspective different.Because a lot of the traditions are different. She also leaves out a lot of cost that in the US we well have but they don't have in the UK. There was maybe only one thing that she did for her wedding that was I new idea to me. Not worth it unless you haven't done any research at all. Pam
